Vermont Lutheran Church near Black Earth, WI holds an annual blessing of bicycles on a Sunday in May.  In the photo is Pastor Chad Christensen, with a gathering of bikes.

Click here for a copy of the blessing, written by Pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber of House for all Sinners & Saints in Denver, and adapted by Pastor Chad.

This rural community is home to many road races, and occasional animosity between resident vehicles and cyclists.  The event, near the start of the cycling season, also includes a pancake breakfast to get to know each other and reconcile community, which also raises funds for the non-profit DreamBikes.  Youth mechanics from that local shop are also available for maintenance and minor repairs.

In a blend of the Blessing of Bicycles and the Blessing of Animals, this blurb from the July 2016 issue of Living Lutheran showcases Mister T having his wheels blessed, too!
